Four Wheel Chassis Dynamometer for acoustic and vibration analysis of passenger car and light trucks.

 

The test rig is suitable for examination of vehicles with front- rear- and all wheel drive under lab conditions.

An existing all wheel dynamometer was refurbished, optimized with respect to vibration and modified with an automatic control system for the synchronization of the drive rollers.

The test rig allows to accomplish and document measurements under repeatable conditions.

The construction mainly consists of four crown rollers with a 5 m circumference carried in hydrostatic bearings. The rollers are directly driven by a DC-motor. The complete unit is mounted on a shock absorbing foundation. The front rollers are in a fixed position. The rear roller sets can be adjusted for various wheel bases.

The design is based on an IPC and a digital control device (controller action and sequence)

Thus the communication between the various components is performed on short and safe ways, inside the computer.

The test rig features a Windows style screen, to be operated by keyboard or mouse.

The test data can be edited directly on the m/c PC or as an option via network.
